Jurgen Klopp has told Liverpool fans it’s time to dream as they sang “We’re going to win the league” for the first time at Anfield this season.
A pulsating victory over Manchester United took the Reds 16 points clear at the top of the Premier League with a game in hand – the biggest lead in the competition’s history at this stage.
And Jurgen Klopp – who has consistently declared that he is not interested in title talk until it is mathematically won – finally relented to insist the fans can now sing what they like…and start their party.
“Of course they are allowed to dream and sing whatever they want…as long as they are ready to do their job as well when we play, then I have no problem with that,” he said.
“If our fans would not be in a good mood now that would be really strange, so they can sing that. Everyone should celebrate the situation, apart from us. We will not be part of that party yet.

“I am not here to decide what they have to sing, the only thing I can tell you now is we are here to work, and it’s as simple as that.”
It is the closest Jurgen Klopp has come to conceding his brilliant side have now cracked the back of their title chase. They have won EVERY league game at Anfield in a calendar year now – 19 consecutively.
It would surely take a miracle now for Manchester City or Leicester to catch them, and the manner in which they United, and worked them over completely – suggested they could end their 30-year wait to be Champions again in record time.
The only surprise here was the scoreline was not more emphatic, but Klopp said that it didn’t matter, as the manner of the performance was a true positive. “We did play outstandingly well, we played sensational football.
“A good game, eh, really good game, one of the best derbies we’ve played since I’ve been here. We were really dominant in large parts of the game. We could have scored more, should have scored more.
“But the most important thing is we believe in the result and the performance, and you look at the performance over 95 minutes, and not only are we the deserved winner, and that is where we want to be.”
