The Isaaq genocide, also known as the Hargeisa Holocaust, was the systematic and state-sponsored genocide of Isaaq civilians from 1987 to 1991. It was perpetrated by the Somali Democratic Republic under Siad Barre during the Somaliland War of Independence.
