US-Israel-Somaliland Alignment: A Strategic Case for Red Sea Security, AI and American Prosperity
It was a true pleasure speaking with you and your wife the other evening at the Menachem Begin Heritage Center for the premiere of David Fishof’s moving documentary, The Beginning. In a cultural landscape frequently clouded by noise, connecting over shared convictions, the restorative power of music, and an enduring love for Israel was deeply meaningful.
Those authentic, human moments naturally lay the groundwork for high-level strategic action. As we navigate an era defined by global realignment, a decisive opportunity stands before us: formalizing and expanding the strategic partnership between the United States, Israel, and Somaliland.
This trilateral dynamic is not merely an exercise in foreign policy it is a moral imperative that dismantles hostile propaganda, defends free democratic societies, secures vital maritime corridors, and unlocks direct economic equity for the American people.
For decades, terrorist organizations, extremist proxies, and their sympathizers have waged an information war designed to drive a wedge between the American public and the State of Israel. Central to this narrative are bad-faith accusations branding Israel as inherently racist or anti-Islamic.
Israel’s active engagement with and support for Somaliland—a Muslim-majority, democratic nation in the Horn of Africa—shatters this false premise completely:
* Refuting Malicious Tropes: An alliance rooted in mutual respect between the Jewish state and an independent Muslim-majority partner directly refutes the manufactured charges of systemic Islamophobia and racism, reflecting instead the multi-ethnic, pluralistic reality of Israeli society itself.
* Standing for Democratic Self-Determination: While totalitarian regimes and non-state militias across the region enforce subjugation, Somaliland has spent over three decades cultivating peaceful democratic transfers of power, civil order, and individual rights. Supporting Somaliland demonstrates to the American public and the world that Israel and the United States stand unequivocally with free societies that champion human dignity and governance by the people.
The persistent threat to commercial shipping along the Bab-el-Mandeb Strait and the Southern Red Sea demands an uncompromised geographic anchor. Somaliland’s 850 kilometers of stable coastline along the Gulf of Aden and the deep-water Port of Berbera provide the exact counterweight required to secure international trade routes.
* Shielding Key Regional Allies: Establishing this security perimeter creates an essential southern buffer that directly shields Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates from asymmetrical drone and naval threats originating across the water.
* Guaranteeing Fair Maritime Commerce: Ensuring that critical waterways remain open and secure lowers exorbitant shipping insurance rates, safeguards supply chains, and fosters a fair, predictable commercial environment where American industries and regional partners can operate without extortion.
Rather than defaulting to outdated foreign aid models, this partnership centers on technological leapfrogging.
Israel’s proven leadership in decentralized energy, advanced water desalination, agritech, and cybersecurity provides the foundational resilience required to power heavy computational infrastructure. With vast renewable energy resources, land availability, and direct access to major undersea fiber lines, Somaliland is positioned to emerge as Africa’s premier hub for AI compute and digital technology.
This positioning aligns directly with the trillions of dollars the United States is deploying into artificial intelligence, ensuring that emerging digital infrastructure across the Global South is built on Western hardware, open standards, and democratic governance.
Strategic statecraft must yield tangible, bottom-line benefits for American families and communities. To operationalize private capital without burdening US taxpayers, we have structured a Delaware Statutory Trust (DST) model to connect frontier infrastructure expansion directly to domestic prosperity.
* Asset Securitization: The Delaware Statutory Trust operates as an institutional vehicle holding fractional, asset-backed equity in strategic infrastructure, logistics terminals, and high-performance computing centers abroad.
* Institutional Governance: Governed by Delaware’s rigorous legal framework, the trust provides robust liability shielding, complete fiduciary transparency, and optimal tax pass-through efficiency.
* Equitizing American Communities: By enabling municipal funds, regional development entities, and everyday American investors to participate in the high-yield growth of these international assets, returns flow directly back home, strengthening local balance sheets, public pensions, and community development across the United States.
A formal US commitment to the Israel Somaliland strategic axis defends our core values, counters adversarial influence in the Horn of Africa, protects vital maritime choke points, and channels global innovation into measurable prosperity for American citizens.
I look forward to continuing our discussion and working together to advance a secure, prosperous, and principled future.
With highest regards and respect,
Rabbi Mordechai Yosef Ben Avraham
