Somaliland president Muse Bihi Abdi has lambasted the Somalia administration for threatening to wage war on Somaliland. Early this week Somalia administered region of Puntland president Abdiweli Gaas issued war threats to Somaliland.
President Bihi understated that Somaliland policy of being good to her neighbors can never be compromised. He went on to say that Somaliland has never thought to ill will against its neighbors and always aspires to live peacefully with its neighbors.
He was perplexed by the drums of war beaten by the Mogadishu and Garowe calling for war on Somaliland. The head of state said at no time will Somaliland stop too low to spill the blood of their fellow Somalis.
Here are the president words “Brothers these days of pilgrimage at Islam holy sites are sacred but this has not stopped the Somalia government swearing to attack Somaliland. I’m very surprised because we all know what happened to Somaliland following Somalia brutal killings of her people; however, Somaliland has opened a new leaf and wants to live in peace with her neighbors even though Garowe and Mogadishu are calling for war against the peace-loving people of Somaliland. ALLAH forbids!”
On the other hand, the president reiterated that Somaliland is a country that can defend itself from outside aggression.
The president added, “If Somalia dares to attack us let them know that the people of Somaliland (all and sundry) are ready to defend their territorial integrity by joining the army.”
The commander in chief said that the army is ready to defend Somaliland from outside ambush to the last man, so Somalia should not play with fire. The president said this during Eid Adha celebrations at Hargeisa ancient Jama Mosque.
