Following a four-year-long musical hiatus, Somali-Canadian songstress Amaal Nuux is back with her breathtaking new single “Last Ones.”
A lyrical anthem for anyone who’s ever felt oppressed or marginalized in any way, Nuux’s newest track sees her collaborating with veteran soul movement producer (and fellow Toronto-native) Slakah The Beatchild to document the triumphant struggle of everyday oppressions with her all-encompassing vocals and classic melodies– the acoustic equivalent of one victorious fist in the air. And with poignant lines like “Stand up – stand tall – shout it out. We will be the last ones down,” “Last Ones” also doubles as the perfect motivational pick-me-up: you’ll be singing it in the shower in no time. Listen below and download via iTunes.
