In a notable development for the Republic of Somaliland, the National Electoral Commission (NEC) has officially set the date for dual elections (presidential and political party elections) to be held on November 13th this year.

This revelation follows a delay triggered by the extension of the president’s term by two years, a decision sanctioned by the country’s Upper House of Elders that consequently shifted the originally planned elections from November 2022 to the forthcoming date.
