Shahira Yusuf Shows Off London’s Spring 2019 Runways

The fresh-faced, Somali British beauty, Shahira Yusuf, was discovered by the booker who found Kate Moss

CR favorites Anna Victoria Best and Kelly-Ann Hughes teamed up with fresh-faced model Shahira Yusuf to capture the Spring/Summer 2019 collections moments after they left the runways. Emblematic of today’s every-changing industry, the Somali British beauty is poised to become the next face of modest fashion and went viral through a single tweet after being discovered by Sarah Doukas, the booker famous for finding Kate Moss. “I ain’t no Kendall Jenner, but I’m a black Muslim girl from east London that’s about to finesse the modeling industry,” the 20-year-old wrote online last year beside photos from a test shoot. But Yusuf doesn’t want to be considered a “token” girl because of her religion or race. As she recently said, “I don’t want ethnic models or those from different religious backgrounds to just pave the way. I want the way to stay there, to become a norm within society.” Here, Yusuf shows off London’s best fashion pieces for next season.
